PRESENTATION

On Wednesday evening Mr James; Harding was the recipient of a sum of money, subscribed by the Poet Office staff, Newton-Stewart, on the occasion of his transfer, at his own request, to Prescot, near Liverpool. Mr A. E James, postmaster, made the presentation, and assured Mr Harding of the good whims of the staff, and expressed his regret at the less of his services. Mr Harding, in a few sincere words, thanked .the postmaster and staff. Mr James Harding's departure is regretted also by the Newton-Stewart and District Branch of the Postmen's Federation of which he was secretary and treasurer for some years. As an earnest of the branch's appreciation of his services he was, some time ago, presented with a gold badge and a gold mounted umbrella suitably inscribed.
